Manhattan Birth’s most popular class, when you finish the series you will be ready for anything!

Our comprehensive childbirth classes take place over the course of 4 weeks and happen virtually through live + interactive classes on Zoom. Students are provided with customized class handouts and access to Manhattan Birth’s extensive resource lists which include recommended reading, practitioners, and resources online and around NYC.

Comprehensive Childbirth students also get access to a Lactation & Newborn Care class for FREE. Please select ONE Lactation class option below. You may choose the date & time for a live online class OR our on-demand option.

Comprehensive Childbirth Prep

Classes meet on four consecutive Sundays (excluding holidays) at 9 AM  with two weekday evening classes at 6 PM. Specific scheduling is as follows:

  • September 10-October 1, 2023
    • Sundays September 10, 17, 24 and October 1st 9:00 AM-12:00 PM EST
    • Mondays September 18, 25, 6:00-8:00 PM EST
  • October 15- November 5, 2023
    • Sundays October 15, 22, 29 and November 5, 9:00 AM-12:00 PM EST
    • Mondays October 23, 30, 6:00-8:00 PM EST
  • January 7-28, 2024
    • Sundays January 7, 14, 21, 28, 9:00 AM-12:00 PM EST
    • Mondays January 15, 22, 6:00-8:00 PM EST
  • February 11-March 3, 2024
    • Sundays February 11, 18, 25, and March 3 9:00 AM-12:00 PM EST
    • Mondays February 19, 26, 6:00-8:00 PM EST

Prepare confidently for your homebirth

Option 1: Lactation + Newborn Care

This three-hour class covers everything you need to know for the first 4 months of life with your baby. Check "Add" if you wish to take the class live with us.

  • Baby care: spitting up, cradle cap, baby acne, diapering, swaddling, bathing
  • The newborn’s abilities and states of being
  • Reading your baby’s cues - crying, gas, fussiness, and colic
  • Infant soothing – the 4th trimester and the 5 s’s
  • Post birth recovery, sleep, relationships, doulas/baby nurses

Option 2: On Demand Lactation + Newborn Care Class

This version of Lactation + Newborn Care is available on-demand, Netflix style, so you can watch whenever you wish. It covers everything you need to know for the first 4 months of life with your baby, just the same as our live version! Check "Add" if you'd prefer this on-demand style learning.
